Blast Off With Piano Summer Piano Class

Menehume Music, which means “Little elf” in Hawaiian, is a class piano program designed for the young beginner Age 5-6.  Students will learn to count simple rhythms including two-eighths notes, quarter, half, whole and dotted half notes.  Students sing and play out loud as a group from the first lesson like a piano orchestra, so playing with other musicians becomes second nature for these young students. The book includes original compositions, corresponding theory fun sheets and piano ensemble pieces. Music games are also an important part of the classroom learning experience.

  • Winter Class is Full.  Four-five year old students may be interested in the Music With Little Mozarts classes which still has openings.

Piano Class Level 1A

This course is designed for beginners ages 7-10.  This program by Mayron Cole, emphasizes a solid foundation in simple rhythms and the keys of the piano, then progresses to teaching staff notes. The book includes original compositions, and theory fun sheets which review and reinforce new musical concepts. Music games are also an important part of the class room learning experience. 


Adult Piano Class Level 1

Are you looking for a fun and supportive environment to learn how to play the piano?  Have you tried before and given up? Piano class may be just the motivation you need. This adult piano class is designed for the beginner looking for a complete piano course which includes:

  • Reading notation
  • Music theory
  • Technique
  • Basic concepts of rhythm
  • Musical expression
  • Chord function and form
  • Popular repertoire

The class will provide opportunities for the students to take part in duets as well as 3 and 4 part ensemble pieces. In addition to the required student method book, music composed especially for the class and supplemental worksheets will be assigned.

North Valley Youth Choirs

Con Brio (with spirit), for singers in grades 1–3, is designed to help students build a foundation for singing and musical literacy. Children are introduced to high quality choral music in the rehearsal setting and participate in a choir where healthy singing, learning, and fun take place. It is an outstanding way for younger children to explore their interest in music and singing. No previous musical experience or audition is required.

 Con Belleza (with beauty), for singers in grades 4–6, is designed to expand each student’s current abilities in singing and musical literacy. This ensemble will focus on expanding vocal range, developing beautiful tone quality, and building music-reading skills through unison, two-, and three-part music. No previous musical experience or audition is required.

 Cost: Yearly tuition is $320 (8 monthly installments of $40). If you choose to pay the entire year’s tuition at the beginning of the year, you will receive a 10% discount. In addition, there will be a non-refundable registration fee of $25. The registration fee will go toward the cost of music and a choir t-shirt for each student.
