  • Cancellation Policy

    • Your tuition pays for your reserved time in the studio schedule throughout the year.  Canceled lessons will not be refunded for any reason.

    • Students who miss their lesson times may have an asynchronous lesson (student sends recordings of assigned pieces to the teacher and teacher will respond via writing and/or recordings within 48 hours).  Synchronous (live) make-ups may be scheduled if there is an open lesson slot within 7 days of missed lesson.

      • In case of teacher illness,  your teacher may choose to substitute an asynchronous lesson for a live lesson.

Student Drop-off and Pick-up

  • Students arriving late will not have their lesson time extended.  Students arriving late by more than half of their lesson period will be considered absent.

  • Please do not drop off students more than 10 minutes prior to lesson time and pick them up promptly.

  • It is expected that everyone wait quietly.  Do not disturb ongoing lessons.

  • If you need to speak to the teacher please do so during your student’s lesson time or arrange for a meeting/phone call later.  Keeping these conversations within the designated lesson time avoids interfering with another student’s lesson time.

Student Illness

No student should attend lessons when sick (i.e. fever, nausea, vomiting, etc.)  I reserve the right to dismiss a student from a scheduled lesson if the student arrives at that lesson exhibiting possible symptoms of illness.    Students who are not well enough to attend lessons in person may opt for an online or asynchronous lesson. Arrangements for an online lessons must be made by 8 am on the student’s lesson day.

Practice Time

Daily practice is required for lessons to be effective.  I will work with each student to determine the amount of time appropriate for level and age.

Sports Schedules

The Wright Keys is not obligated to adjust teaching schedules to accommodate seasonal sports practices and games once the schedule has been set at the beginning of the term.  The instructor may furnish a “swap list” to the student so they may attempt to switch lesson times with another student. Students who drop out due to sports conflicts are not guaranteed a spot when the season is over unless tuition is paid for the duration of the absence.

Dismissals

The Wright Keys reserves the right to dismiss a student if any of the following circumstances occur:

Failure to pay tuition on time

    Persistent absences

    Uncooperative attitude

Lack of progress due to insufficient practice
